This podcast is one of our exciting pilot programs this year and the goal is for us to uplift Korean creatives from varied artistic disciplines, get to know their journey, learn about their artistry, talk about their process, and for us to have a space where we can get to know more artists in our community.

Gennie Rim is an Emmy-Award winning Writer/Producer with 25+ years in Animation, having worked at studios such as Pixar, Disney, Netflix and Google. While CEO at Glen Keane Productions, Gennie produced the Academy Award-winning film "Dear Basketball" with animation legend Glen Keane and the late, great Kobe Bryant. Gennie’s most recent film "Over The Moon" for Netflix was an Academy Award Nominee for Best Animated Feature, which showcased an all AAPI cast. In 2023, She launched her own production company, Aligned Pictures.

Christopher Shin is a Korean-American artist who has spent his adult life as an actor/singer/dancer. He performed on Broadway in the closing company of Mary Poppins and has toured the country in the national tour of Irving Berlin's White Christmas. Chris has worked at countless regional theatres around the country including: Arena Stage, Goodspeed Opera House, Walnut Street Theatre, Sacramento Music Circus, Kansas City Starlight, North Shore Music Theatre, Ogunquit Playhouse, Westport Country Playhouse, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Arkansas Rep. As a director and choreographer, he has worked at Chuang Stage, Lyric Stage of Boston, TexArts, Zilker Theatre and Emerson Stage. Chris is currently an Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre Choreography at Emerson College in Boston, MA. He received his MFA in Musical Theatre from SDSU and his BFA in Theatre from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

Jacquelyn Wells is an artist, musician and entrepreneur. Her unique roots as a Korean American adoptee have always influenced her life and art. Playing piano and singing since childhood, she writes, produces, and performs her own music & lyrics and performs live regularly. Her own personal journey with mental health drew her to be interested in wellness, natural healing, mindfulness, and yoga, and in her twenties she became a registered yoga teacher. Jacquelyn volunteered and worked for several years on various non-profits including Women Cross DMZ, a global movement of women mobilizing for peace on the Korean Peninsula, Also Known As Inc, a non-profit for transnational adoptees based in NY and beyond, and she currently serves on the board of Boston Korean Adoptees.
She is the owner maker and designer of Oohjacquelina Jewelry, a bridal and everyday wear jewelry line based out of New England. She now resides in southern Maine near to where her mom and dad live, in a home with her husband and son. She travels back to Korea often to visit her biological family with whom she was reunited with in 2018.

Nina Ki (xe/she/they) is a Queerean (Queer + Korean) American playwright living in Brooklyn. Xe graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2008 with a BFA in Dramatic Writing, and xer plays have been read, recorded, and presented nationwide, including with Clubbed Thumb, Ma-Yi Theater Company, MCC Theater, The Parsnip Ship, Yale Summer Cabaret, and Queens Theater. Xer play “Moon Bear” was given special consideration for the Relentless Award, and xer play “Ravage” was a finalist for the Playwrights Realm's Fellowship. Xe was also an inaugural member of The Parsnip Ship's Radio Roots Writer's Group and a member of Clubbed Thumb's Early Career Writer's Group, and is currently a member of The Public Theater's Emerging Writers Group and Ma-Yi's Writers Lab. Ari Kim (she/her) is lighting designer based in NY. She has been working on Theatre art, Dance and performance art in museums. She is interested in stories that talk about boundaries and marginalized communities. She believes lighting design comes from the meanings of emotions and feelings which are non-verbal languages stimulated through human senses These are the most essential, important and powerful language in theatrical art.

Juliana is a senior at Boston University who's active in both New York and Boston dance communities. Born in South Korea, she has danced for majority of her life ever since she wore her tiny ballerina slippers as a 5-year-old. She currently dances with a Boston-based team called Project CxC as well as BU's K-Pop group called BU miXx. She has also performed with a BU team called Unofficial Project. She is and will always be a dancer at heart, and she is thrilled to see where her dance journey will take her for years to come.

Soojin Chung has edited over 30 feature films in the USA, plus major titles in South Korea, including Park Chan-Wook’s Lady Vengeance, nominated for the Golden Lion at the 62nd Venice International Film Festival. She edited and produced Escape From Tomorrow, which was shot entirely undercover at Disney World, and became one of the most talked about titles at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The LA Times called it “one of the most provocative movies ever seen,” and Variety said “its cult status will remain immortal.” Soojin is a graduate of the American Film Institute and has participated in the IFP’s TransAtlantic Partners Program, Film Independent’s Project Involve, The Tokyo Talent Campus and the CAAM Fellowship. Previously, she was recognized as one of the Best New American Filmmakers by the Vilcek Foundation and also received an American Cinema Editors Award.
